Bioderma, the cult French cleanser has finally hit UK shores which had made me very happy. I have heard a lot about this cleansing water but have never actually tried it before. It seemed that you could only get it on sites like eBay, or if you were taking a trip to France where you could bring a spare suitcase to stock up.
Bioderma was the first brand to hail the micellar water trend, which contains microscopic oil molecules to lift dirt, oil and make-up from the skin and even works on mascara. The formula is so gentle so it won't mess with your skin's natural barriers and pH balance, and your skin won't feel tight or rubbery after use. Make-Up artists swear by micellar water to use on models skin, as they go through such rigorous routines working at shows and shoots all day that each require a different look.
I use the Sensibio H2O which is the formula for sensitive skin. The product is a clear liquid and is completely fragrance free so it's almost like a bottle of water, but is absolutely incredible at taking make up off. All you need to do is put some on a cotton pad and wipe over your face and it literally removes every trace of make up. Amazing. It's so gentle which makes it perfect for sensitive skin types like myself, but Bioderma also have a version for oily skin, dehydrated skin, dry and atopic skin and a sun care line so there is something for everyone.
This product doesn't require any water so is going to be perfect for the festival season!
Bioderma is currently available from independent pharmacies and selected online stores. I got mine from Zest and I got a sample of the Bioderma eye cream as well which I will be testing soon.
There are other brands jumping on the micellar band wagon, and L'Oreal have just released their version.
