The Wanderer Returns - Bali

After a month in Australia the time came to head to our next stop - Bali. We were only there for just under a week, but we had a lovely time just relaxing and exploring. You can se what we got up to in Oz here - part 1, part 2, part 3

We arrived into the capital, Denpasar, and headed straight to a place called Seminyak which is by the sea. We spent a couple of days just relaxing on the beach and exploring the city before we headed over to Gili Trawangan for a couple of nights. One of my favourite things we did in Seminyak was went to a place called Potato Head which is a beautiful bar by the beach where you can watch the sunset. There are three restaurants there and you can also hire a bed by the pool which looked awesome. If you are in Seminyak then this is definitely a must.

We then decided to go over to the Gili Islands which are three small islands in between Bali and Lombok. This was not without drama as we didn't realise there was only one boat a day going over (the 2 worst boat trips on my life I just need to add!). We missed it and had to wait until the next day to go. We decided to go to Gili Trawangan which is the most popular of the three islands. There are no cars allowed on the island, so transport is by horse and carriage but the place is so small you can just walk around. It did rain most of the time we were there, and we ended up only going for one night but I definitely would have liked to stay longer and see more of the island. It's a really lovely place and I would definitely go back.

On our way from Bali to Cambodia we had a one night stopover in Singapore and stayed with some family friends who have recently moved over. I've never been before but definitely want to go back and spend more time there, it's a really nice place. We went out for dinner to a rooftop restaurant and then went for drinks to One Raffles Place which has a bar on the 62nd floor. You get an amazing view of the whole of Singapore and you can even see across to Indonesia. I loved it and will definitely be back.

So that's it for Bali and Singapore, short but sweet. The next update will be our last stop in Cambodia and Bangkok and you can catch up on Australia here - part 1part 2part 3
